Director of Missions

Dear Co-laborers in Christ,

We praise the Lord as we look back over the year and see what the Lord has done and is doing here in Southwest Georgia. We all have so much to be thankful for if we would just stop and count our blessings.

Christmas is back again and it seems we just had Christmas. But time is waiting on no one. As we celebrate the birth of Christ, the question is, “Is He your savior?” We speak of putting Christ into Christmas, but if he is not in your heart you are missing the greatest part of the celebration. Without His birth we would have no life. Without His dying for us we would have no forgiveness, and without His resurrection we would have no hope. It is all about Christ. Could it be that even as Christians we have allowed the festivities to become more important to us than the person of Christ? Do the decorations, the tree, the gifts and the food become more important than being thankful for his birth? I am not against these things but I fear that many times they are the greatest focus of our passion versus our passion for the Savior. Do not forget who Christ is, and why he came.

I thank God for the great year we have had in Bowen Association. All of our mission efforts are still moving forward. I want to especially give thanks to Leigh Ann Werner who has served as our director at the Pregnancy Center. She has done a marvelous job and will be missed. Please pray for her as she has had to step back in her responsibilities as director but will continue to help as she can. God has provided a new director who has already been working there and is our nurse. Please pray for Karren Green as she has accepted the responsibility of leadership. She is a member of Climax Baptist Church. We do need more volunteers to help with the ministry. The center is open 1 1/2 days and a volunteer may serve only two or three hours a week. The center will provide the training needed to work there. I also want to thank Alpha Pregnancy Center of Albany for allowing us to partner with them in this great ministry.

Please continue to pray for the Bride of Christ building project as we need the money to put in the AC units before we can proceed with the rest of the inside work.

Brenda and I are grateful for the privilege of continuing to work alongside with you in Bowen Association. Please pray for us as we continue to serve our Lord.

Your servants in the Lord,
Ken and Brenda Cloud
